History is interesting…there are many tales passed on from generation to generation, each time gaining or losing a little something. While some are just tales, others are truths that we can’t imagine experiencing. That’s why Halloween is a great time to explore history.
Recently, I explored the past by attending a guided tour of one of the oldest cemeteries in my home town. To say I learned a lot would be an understatement. Whether you’ve stayed in one town your whole life or moved to a new place, you can learn about those who came before you from the names of monuments, museums, parks, buildings and streets.
While I was familiar with many of the names I heard, I learned so much more. It was common to see a couple pass away within days of each other due to what we now consider common, very treatable illnesses.
